Drew League

You may have heard that Kyrie Irving is expected to play in the pro-am Drew League this season. While you may be wondering how you can watch this, the good news is that the Drew League is not broadcast on major sports networks such as ESPN or NBA TV. If you want to see the game, you will have to use a streaming service such as Netflix or Disney+.

LeBron James played in the Drew League

During the 2011 NBA lockout, LeBron James played in the Drew League. He averaged over 30 points per game during the season and his team went 15-0. It was also the first time he had played in the league since 2011.

James hasn’t stepped on a court at the Drew-League since he played there during the lockout. But he did play in the first pro-am game ever broadcast on the NBA App.

The Drew League was started in 1973 by Alvin Lewis to teach life lessons through basketball. It was aimed at young people in South Central Los Angeles. The league has attracted players from around the world. Many of the stars of the NBA have played in the league.

Kyrie Irving is expected to play in the pro-am Drew League

Earlier this month, NBA superstars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were expected to play in a Drew League tournament in Los Angeles. However, Irving did not show up for the event. Instead, he was helping out with the Lakers’ assistant coach Phil Handy at a youth basketball camp.

Despite not being at the game, there is no indication that Irving will not be joining James at the Drew League this Saturday. It’s a summer pro-am tournament that’s held every year in the Los Angeles area.

In addition to Irving, DeMar DeRozan will also be at the event. DeRozan is a Compton native and a regular in the Drew League. He played with James and DeMar during the Cavs’ 2016 NBA championship. He finished with a game-high 30 points and 16 rebounds. He added four steals.

Drew League is not available on Netflix

Despite the name, the Drew-League is not located in Los Angeles, California. Instead, it is a club at the King Drew Magnet High School in Burbank, CA. As the name implies, the club is made up of retired firefighters.

The aforementioned club is not the only one of its ilk, a handful of other squads also take the court on the weekend. Its heyday, however, is the 1980s and 1990s. It was also home to notables like John Williams, who went on to win the WNBA, and the aforementioned Mo Spiller. Other notables include Dane Suttle, James “Gumby” Gray, and a certain duo who have gone on to make their marks in the pros. There is also a slew of rookies and veterans who have played in the league over the years.

Drew League is not available on Disney+

Whether you’re a die-hard basketball fan or not, you’ve probably heard of the Drew League. This is a tournament held each year in Los Angeles, which draws amateur and professional players alike. While it is not an official NBA competition, it has drawn stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Paul George.

The League started as a six-team. It grew in size to 10 teams in 1985. Today, there are 22 teams in the Drew. It’s still a popular summertime event at the King-Drew Magnet High School gym in South Los Angeles.

The League is not available on Disney+, but you can watch it on Caffeine, an app that lets you stream NBA games and other sporting events for free. You can also watch it on the NBA App, which is available for Android and Apple devices.

Drew League is not streamed live on the popular sports channels

During the offseason, rumors of Kyrie Irving’s participation in the League have been flying around the NBA. However, he has yet to show up for the game. That means that LeBron James will make his return to the competition this year.

LeBron James is expected to play in the League on Saturday. He hasn’t played in the tournament since 2011, but he said that he was healthy enough to participate. He said that he would be playing with Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan.

In the past, several NBA players have played in the Drew League, including Kevin Durant, James Harden, Paul Pierce, and Kobe Bryant. It’s unclear who will be participating this year, but both LeBron and Irving will likely take the court.
